A Medley Of Thoughts (2)

This is the concluding part of a previous story.
If you missed the first, before you read on, please click A Medley Of Thoughts(1) to get familiar. Tenkz.

To be honest, I wish I returned to finish this earlier.
I didn't plan to let the second part linger for this long because the truth is, I have now kinda lost sight of the train of thoughts that inspired this to start with.
Let's just hope I'll still be able to conclude this matter with a message, as intended at birth.

So yes, the Madam caught up with me to say thank you.

The girl was right beside her, grinning from ear to ear. Then the Madam went on to say that I had no idea how happy the girl was, and that was because it meant more than a gift of a thousand Naira.
Here is the story, as narrated to me by the Madam;

Some days earlier, a guest had given the girl N1000 which she misplaced that same day.
The girl searched the whole house hoping to find the money but she could not.
She eventually consoled herself and confidently told everyone that she had prayed to God to help her 'fish out' the money somehow, so she was sure she would find it again eventually.

At that point, it dawned on me that;
1.  The N1000 was more than a gift to the girl, it was a miracle.

2. The seemingly simple occurrence will further reinforce her conviction that God answers prayers, and He is indeed a miracle worker.

In the end, I was glad I obeyed, and let myself be used.
Getting answers to prayers can be very thrilling, I am sure you can relate.

Remember I said I'd like you to also share some of your unforgettable encounters with miracles?
Please do leave them in the comment section.
They will be highly appreciated.

Moving on, personally, I think that the whole concept of 'giving' is becoming underrated.
In this world of ours, it is very easy to unconsciously neglect the act of extending kindness, especially in cash to the less privileged.
This is because, to be quite honest, sometimes I check my income flow viz a viz bank account and feel like I am less privileged myself. Lol

In essence, the statement 'human needs are insatiable' which sounded like a cliche when that Secondary school Economics teacher said it back then is just as true as ' Buki likes rice .lol.

I don't know about you, but I hardly ever feel like I have made more than enough money or have more clothes than I need so much so that I have to give out.
"I don't have enough myself, so how can I give" is a very comfortable place to stay.
But we shouldn't remain there.

May I humbly suggest that you consciously increase the rate at which you give out?
Don't wait till its more than enough, or surplus, that time may never come (not literally). Suffice to say, you may never even acknowledge it when it does.
(A Yoruba saying would have done justice to the message I'm trying to pass here....but...Ok, forget it :))

Still on the issue of giving, not everyone will start an NGO, or stage a charity event, or be at the frontline of an outreach, but everyone can support people that do this and contribute in cash/kind to these noble causes.

That used to be my excuse too, I thought there was no place for me.
I would look at people like Olorunfunmi Adebajo (find her on Facebook) and just give up because I knew I wasn't cut out for jump-starting such projects, but now I know better.

I would also like to mention this; Begin at 'home'.
Look around you, and be sensitive to your environment.
If you look thoroughly, you may discover just how much that friend of yours could use a little cash gift, or your sibling in fact.

While you can decide to donate money on a random gofundme account, you should also make sure that the people close to you are getting their miracles through YOU.

Remember, it doesn't have to be enough, it doesn't have to be surplus...just GIVE something anyway.
